Who We Are

About Cherokee Trace Drive-Thru Safari

A Wild East Texas Adventure

Cherokee Trace Drive-Thru Safari is a wildlife park located in the piney woods of East Texas, about 12 miles east of Jacksonville. Our 300-acre preserve is home to more than two dozen exotic and endangered animal species living in a large, open habitat.

Visitors can explore the wild animal park in the Jacksonville area from the comfort of their own vehicles. Follow the safari roads at your own pace while watching, feeding, and taking photos of animals such as zebras, camels, wildebeest, Watusi cattle, and many others.

The Experience

A Fun Experience for the Whole Family

Every trip through Cherokee Trace is different. Animals roam freely throughout the preserve and may walk directly up to your vehicle. This gives families a fun way to see wildlife up close while enjoying the hills, ponds, trees, and open fields of East Texas.

Your admission provides access to the park for the day through the final admission time. Visitors can also enjoy our specialty gift shop, picnic area, and restrooms. You are welcome to bring lunch and relax in the picnic area during your visit.
