Nilgai

Nil, Gai means "blue cow." Habitat: Short bushes and scattered trees in scrub forests and grassy plains. They are common in agricultural land, but rarely in dense forest. Primary population found in the Indian and Nepal Terai. They are the largest Asian Antelope. It is the sole member of the Genus Boselaphus. Named by the German zoologist, Peter Simon Pallas in 1766.
